In light of the recent uproar about the gay marriage issue being discussed in the Supreme Court, I found this post on a parenthood blog called Momastery, maintained by an admirable woman named Glennon Doyle Melton.
The blog post touches on several issues that are hot-button issues for society today, but where it really shines is its stance on homosexuality and acceptance. In it, Glennon discusses a letter she wrote to her son, pre-empting her son’s eventual coming-out. The letter is heartfelt and touching, and contains some lessons that I think everyone can learn from. The fascinating thing for me is that it also touches on how religion can coexist with, and even embrace homosexuality. Great read.
